English Tuition

I hold the internationally recognised Trinity College TESOL Certificate at Grade A. This is backed up by my PhD in Linguistics and 25 years’ experience of lecturing, tutoring and consultancy. Unlike many tutors, I’m able to complement language tuition with expert coaching in pronunciation.

What’s involved
NEEDS ASSESSMENT First we establish your goals, and I assess the current level of your English in your speaking, listening, reading and writing. Tuition sessions work on four key areas:
	VOCABULARY including phrasal verbs, collocations and idioms GRAMMAR e.g. tenses, conditionals, the passive and reported speech COMMUNICATIVE FUNCTION We focus on the purposes most relevant to you, such as business English and socialising, with attention to both formal and informal styles. How and Where
Based in the London area, I can travel as work demands. I can also teach you, wherever you are in the world, by phone or online via Skype, Yahoo Messenger, etc. Online sessions with webcam benefit from low cost, good sound quality, and the added value that the visual dimension brings to communication.

Rates
Rates vary depending on several factors including my travel costs. Discounts are available for pre-paid packages of sessions, and I accept payment via PayPal (for which you don't need a PayPal account). Please contact me for a quote.
